Why Malaysia is a Promising Market for MSMEs

Export Document Requirements

Mandatory documents that must be prepared to ensure smooth shipping without delays at customs.

  • Packing List — details per package: weight, dimensions, contents.
  • HS Code — international commodity classification code (Erge Asia team assists with clarification).
  • Halal Certificate — required for halal food products entering Malaysia.
  • BPOM or Test Report — for certain skincare & cosmetics.
  • Sender's NPWP — for commercial or business volume shipments.

Tips for Saving Shipping Costs to Malaysia

5 strategies used by Erge Asia sellers to optimize shipping costs.

  1. Consolidate Multiple Orders into 1 ShipmentCombine 3-5 small orders into 1 master AWB. The rate per kg significantly decreases for large volumes.
  2. Optimize Volumetric WeightChoose packaging that fits the contents. Oversized boxes result in high volumetric weight despite light contents — costs become inflated.
  3. Choose Regular Service for Non-UrgentThe price difference between regular and express can be up to 30%. If the buyer is flexible with time, choose the regular service.
  4. Use Vouchers & Member RewardsErge Asia members have access to vouchers of up to 25% off — check the Voucher page each week for the latest promotions.
  5. Register a Business AccountBusiness accounts can get special contract rates for routine shipments & bulk upload AWB features for operational efficiency.

How long does shipping to Malaysia take?
Regular service 4-6 working days, express 2-3 working days. For the KL area and surrounding areas, One Day Delivery is available with an additional fee. Sabah & Sarawak require an additional 1-2 days as they must transit through Peninsular Malaysia.
Is there a minimum weight for shipping?
There is no minimum weight — Erge Asia serves shipments starting from 0.5 kg. But the heavier, the cheaper per kg because there is a fixed cost handling per shipment.
How do I track my shipment?
After the goods are shipped, you will get an AWB (Air Waybill). Enter the AWB on the Shipment Tracking page or Erge Asia app for real-time updates, from pickup, customs, to delivery.
What if the goods are damaged or lost?
All shipments are equipped with automatic insurance up to the declared value. Claims are processed within 7 working days by including invoices & photos of damage. For high-value goods, a premium insurance option is available.
Can I ship food to Malaysia?
Yes, with the conditions: factory-sealed packaging, halal label & ingredient composition, no pork derivatives, and long shelf life. For large volumes or commercial brands, a MUI halal certificate is required.
